“My name is Ghader Ghorbaniasl. I am a senior research scientist of computational fluid dynamics and aeroacoustics in the department of mechanical engineering. I have received my PhD in aeroacoustics from VUB and my research activities lie in the area of aeroacoustics, turbulence modeling, biological flows and uncertainty quantification. I am authored or co-authored more than 70 papers in refereed journals and international conferences. Being an active member of our research group, I have been involved in supervising several research projects and doctoral programs. Being at VUB for more than 17 years, I believe it is important that there is a connecting factor between the researcher and the University Council. The researcher should be a central point in the decision making when the quality of the research becomes one of our objectives. It is important that VUB remains a frontrunner in innovation and research. Having more internationalized university will improve the quality of research and innovation. I would therefore like to dedicate myself to this objective.”
